In this class you will have a fun day creating a contemporary piece of artwork using acrylic paint, texture and mixed media. You do not need to know how to draw as the tutor can supply patterns or you can create your own designs.

.In this workshop you will have fun playing with different types of texture on a canvas. You do not need to know how to draw. The teacher can supply reference material or patterns or you can bring along your own ideas or images. Using an assortment of natural fibre materials and texture, you will create a textural piece of artwork. You will learn about composition, colour, texture and techniques.

Discover the pleasure and versatility of acrylic paints or oils. Acrylics and oils will be explored through "thick and thin", with an emphasis on creativity. Choose your own subject - bring the picture you want to paint.

A watercolour class that will cover a variety of subjects, using watercolour as a basis, adding coloured pencil, pastel and ink to create traditional or contemporary works. A relaxed but informative class with demonstrations and individual tuition will help beginners to get started and students with some experience to go further and be more creative.

You don't need special talents to make drawing an exciting and stimulating experience. Portraiture will be covered as well as general drawing techniques. Will suit beginners and more experienced artists.

Do you love flowers? Then this is the course for you! We will be doing bouquets and flower arrangements with fresh and silk flowers. Any flowers or greenery in your garden can be brought in and the simpliest thing can be turned into something stunning. Walk away with a basic understanding of floral arranging and a finished bouquet. We can work together to accomplish what you would like from this course.

This course is designed for those people who are familiar with their camera, but wish to learn more about digital photgraphy and improve their picture taking skills. Topics covered: understanding your camera controls, the relationship between shutter speed and aperture, understanding white balance and its importance in picture taking, depth of field and the focal length of lenses, file sizes and quality, flash photography and composition. Uploading and basic manipulation and tips to improve your photography will be covered. One class will be held on location on a Saturday (date to be arranged) so that you can take advantage of the daylight to capture that perfect picture.

This course is designed to give you hands on experience under challenging situations such as night time exposures with varying white balances, time exposures capturing atmosphere and movement. High speed sports photography and other aspects of digital photography that will enhance and sharpen your skills.

Would you like to learn basic dressmaking skills whilst making a skirt or slacks? Alison will show you how to alter a pattern, insert a zipper, sew and complete your Skirt or Slacks to fit your particular shape. At the conclusion of this 2 day workshop you will walk away with a completed project.
